Amy and Becky talk about Nic Ponsford’s top tip:
You are not going to have all the skills you need so build a support network around you.
Many of us are very independent, driven people and we have often been trained, through our upbringing to be very individual in our approaches to our work. This is an admirable trait, however, we are never going to have all the skills we need to make the changes that we want to make, so we have to get the right network around us and learn how to pull from them.
Some of the thing that can help us to do that include:
- Acknowledging that you can’t do everything
- Seeing the value of the community
- Being prepared to have healthy debate when you do bring others in
You don’t have all the skills you need, you need to draw from the community
